Cabinet Additions in Olympia, WA Near Me

Adding cabinets can mean an island, a peninsula, a pantry tower, an extra wall run, or filling a gap where the kitchen currently has bare wall. The main challenge is making new pieces look like they belong, which depends on matching the door style, finish color, and sheen of the existing cabinets. Many homeowners handle this by pairing the additions with refacing or refinishing so old and new are finished together. Layout planning matters as well: walkways need enough clearance for people to move and for appliances and drawers to open comfortably.
Islands and peninsulas bring extra considerations, including outlets, possible plumbing or appliance connections, flooring that continues beneath, and countertop seams. Permit requirements can vary by Olympia, WA, so it is worth checking before work begins. The existing cabinets may not perfectly match new ones if they are aged or discolored, which is another reason to coordinate finishes. Some storage needs can be met with interior organizers or pantry solutions instead, so it can help to compare what you need against the space you have before adding new boxes.
